தினம் ஓரு சட்டம் - இ.த.ச 273

      யாராவது, கெட்டுப்போன பொருட்களை உணவாகவும் அல்லது குடிக்க பயன்படுத்தும் பானமாகவும் விற்பதும் அல்லது விற்பனைக்கு வைத்திருப்பதும் குற்றமாகும்.  

    இந்தக் குற்றத்திற்கு ஆறுமாதங்கள் வரை சிறைக்காவல் அல்லது அபராதம் அல்லது இரண்டும் தண்டனையாக விதிக்கப்படும்.

Section 273 in The Indian Penal Code

       

            Sale of noxious food or drink.—Whoever sells, or offers or exposes for sale, as food or drink, any article which has been rendered or has become noxious, or is in a state unfit for food or drink, knowing or having reason to believe that the same is nox­ious as food or drink, 

     Shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to six months, or with fine which may extend to one thousand rupees, or with both.

       உணவுப் பொருட்களில் அல்லது பருகும் பானத்தில் கலப்படம் செய்வதும் விற்பதும் குற்றமாகும். பொது மக்கள் அருந்துவதற்கு அல்லது பருகுவதற்கு விற்கப்படுவதும் தெரிந்தும் அத்தகைய பண்டங்களில்  கலப்படம் செய்து தொல்லை தருவது தண்டனைக்குரிய குற்றமாகும். 

      இதற்கு ஆறுமாதங்கள் வரை சிறைக்காவல் அல்லது அபராதம் அல்லது இரண்டும் தண்டனையாக விதிக்கப்படும்.

Section 272 in The Indian Penal Code

         Adulteration of food or drink intended for sale.—Whoever adulterates any article of food or drink, so as to make such article noxious as food or drink, intending to sell such article as food or drink, or knowing it to be likely that the same will be sold as food or drink, 

       shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to six months, or with fine which may extend to one thousand rupees, or with both.
