அ- வேட்பாளர் என்பவர் எந்த ஒரு தேர்தலில் போட்டியிடுவதற்கு முன் மொழியப்படும் ஒருவரைக் குறிக்கும்.
ஆ- வேட்புரிமை எனப்படுவது ஒரு நபர் தேர்தலில் போட்டியிடுவதற்கும் அல்லது வேட்புரிமையை வாபஸ் பெறுவதற்கும் அல்லது ஒரு தேர்தலில் வாக்களிப்பதற்கும் அல்லது அந்த தேர்தலில் வாக்களிக்காமல் இருக்கும் உரிமையைக் குறிக்கும்.

Candidate, Electoral right defined
"Candidate", "Electoral right" defined
For the purposes of this Chapter-
*[(a) "Candidate" means a person who has been nominated as a candidate at any election;]
(b) "Electoral right" means the right of a person to stand, or not to stand as, or to withdraw from being, a candidate or to vote or refrain form voting at an election.
